Long Haired Dachshund

The standard or miniature long haired dachshund has sleek, glistening and often slightly wavy or curly hair that is longer under the neck and on the chest, underwide of the body, ears and behind the legs.  The coat of longhaired dachshunds gives the dachshund an elegant appearance while short hair on the ears is not desirable.  Several fault in a long hair dachshund is too much of a profuse coat, equally long hair covering the whole body, curly coats, or a pronouced parting on the back.  Every great long haired dachshund carries its long hair the greatest in prolongation of the spine.
