Piebald Dachshund

A standard of miniature piebald dachshund occurs when both dachshund parents are piebald or carry the piebald gene.  In piebald dachsunds, an area of full color is displayed on a white background.  Piebald dachshunds may also have ticking (small spots of different color in the white field) which may be several little spots on the muzzle and toes.  In some instances, the ticking my be heavy. The standard or miniature piebald dachshunds do not have blue in the eyes and both parents must carry the piebald gene.
